Rhinog Fawr

A friend and I had an epic day high up in the Rhinog last week climbing Rhinog Fawr.  A slog up through rocks, bog, heather and sneeky holes to fall in.  Splendid views from the top but there was a freezing cold north-east wind – needed a balaclava!!  We ran out of time so had to make very step descent down face of mountain so as not to be benighted.

We could look down on the route the drovers took through between the mountains called Drws Arddudwy (“The Door”) on their way from West Wales towards Welshpool and on to London
